CNES
The Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES) is the French Space Agency. It is a public organisation, has 2500 employees and is located in Paris, Evry, Guyana and Toulouse.
CNES is active in 5 priority areas
- Access to space with ARIANE and other program contribution
- Mass market including telecommunication, navigation and positioning
- Sustainable development using the earth observation satellite capability
- Space science and space technologies by participating to major program
- Defence and security
In this project CNES is represented in the consortium by one of its technical centres (Toulouse) and more precisely by the Quality directorate. In CNES daily business, Toulouse technical centre is in charge of satellite systems and technologies. The Quality directorate is in charge of space technology evaluation and qualification. Two sections are involved in the AGAPAC project:
- the "electronic components" section in charge of EEE component engineering
- the "laboratories and expertise" section in charge of technology expertise.
